# Balance

Every account maintains multiple balance states depending on your workflow.

Typical balance types include:

* Available Balance
* Pending Balance
* Reserved Balance
* Total Balance

Balances are automatically calculated from ledger entries and transaction states.

Developers never need to manually reconcile balances.
