# Account

An account represents a balance within a ledger.

Accounts can represent almost anything:

* Customer Wallet
* Merchant Wallet
* Bank Account
* Treasury
* Settlement Account
* Revenue
* Fees
* Reserve
* Clearing Account

Each account maintains its own balance while remaining fully traceable through transaction history.
